Minghui Li, PhD, MLS (ASCP), S(ACHI)

Dr. Minghui Li earned his PhD in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Nevada, Reno, and his master’s degree in clinical laboratory science from Augusta University, Augusta, GA. Dr Li joined the DNA Identification laboratory after completing his HLA lab director- in-training at Virginia Commonwealth University’s HLA laboratory. His current responsibilities include human leukocyte antigen (HLA) testing for disease associations, pharmacogenomics and histocompatibility support for transplant centers and bone marrow registries. Dr.

Vera C Lattier, PhD

Dr. Vera Lattier received her PhD in molecular and cellular biology from Oregon State University, Corvallis, and her master’s degree in pathology from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. She completed post-doctoral training at the National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Health, Bethesda, MD. Before joining Labcorp, she worked as a research and development scientist in drug discovery and assay development. She has discovered several genetic biomarkers associated to disease prognosis and published numerous scientific articles in international journals.

Megan Shaffer, PhD, S(ACHI)

Dr. Megan Shaffer completed her PhD in microbiology and immunology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport, and continued post-doctoral training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans. Dr. Shaffer holds a certificate of qualification from the New York State Department of Health to act as a laboratory director in the categories of histocompatibility, transplant monitoring, forensic identity and parentage/identity testing. She is board certified as an associate of the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI).

Ruth P Koester, PhD, F(ACHI)

Dr. Ruth Koester is a fellow of the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI), and she is a member of American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI), the European Federation for Immunogenetics (EFI) and the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA). She earned a BS from Cornell University and a PhD in Genetics from North Carolina State University.

Ajay Grover, PhD

Dr. Grover earned a BS degree from Kurukshetra University in India and an MS degree from Panjab University in India. He graduated from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research in Chandigarh, India, where he studied and examined the adaptive T cell immune responses of DNA vaccines against infectious diseases using immunological and molecular biology methods. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in Immunology from Colorado State University.

Vincent Ricchiuti, PhD

Dr Ricchiuti joined Labcorp in Dublin, OH as laboratory director and discipline director in immunology in 2015. Prior, Dr Ricchiuti was director of clinical chemistry (including immunology testing) and toxicology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC), and associate professor at the University of Cincinnati, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the College of Medicine, in Cincinnati, OH (2012-2015). Dr Ricchiuti was the senior director of clinical biomarkers at Medpace Reference Laboratories, in Cincinnati, OH (2011-2012).

Kelly Y. Chun, PhD

Dr Kelly Chun is vice president and scientific director of Esoterix/Endocrine Sciences, a Labcorp specialty laboratory. With over 20 years of protein science and assay development experience, Dr Chun oversees a complex, high-throughput endocrine reference laboratory while leading research and development activities.

Andrea Throop, PhD

Dr Throop is discipline director for routine chemistry at Labcorp and the technical director in the Phoenix Regional Laboratory. She has been with Labcorp since February 2016. Prior to joining Labcorp, Dr Throop served as a Production Manager at the Biodesign Center for Personalized Diagnostics overseeing a high-throughput molecular coloning and array facility. In addition she also served as a Quality Specialist and Technician for a COLA accredited in-practice laboratory.

Alex Katayev, MD

Dr Katayev earned his medical degree at the Leningrad Institute of Medicine and Hygiene, Leningrad, Russia. He completed his residency in dermatology and sexually transmitted diseases at Svetogorsk Regional Hospital, Leningrad, Russia in 1983. He completed his residency in Dermatology and Sexually transmitted Diseases at Leningrad Regional Hospital. Dr Katayev joined Labcorp in 1994, moved to Science & Technology in 2007 and serves as Labcorp’s director of clinical science assessment in the Department of Science and Technology.
